My name is Janey and I make bread…

I am from Louisa, va, a town you most likely haven’t heard of. My family moved from New Jersey to Virginia to start a farm winery. We turned a literal junk yard into something beautiful.

The winery is no longer but the farm is where my earliest memories originate and many are centered around the food I ate as a kid. A fan favorite is when my dad would make chicken wings (from Sam’s club), with a side of steamed broccoli and cantaloupe accompanied with a small glass of whole milk. Simple yet delicious. But the thing I remember most is asking my mom to combine the perfect ratio of flour & water to create the smoothest most malleable dough ball imaginable. That’s where it all started for me.

It took me awhile before I circled back to the kitchen. First I had to drop out of college, attend culinary school, beat cancer, twice & go through an unexpected divorce before I realized that I liked working in kitchens but loved to bake.

So what is Janey’s bread? Well…I’m Janey and I like to bake bread. I bake in my mobile wood oven. I bake for my customers like I do for my family and i think you’ll taste that in my product. I source from like minded people who recognize good food starts with quality ingredients. Every product will be one of a kind, human error and some faulty language will be a part of this process, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hope to see you out there.

Janey.
